"Friendship"

What is the meaning of friendship? Many people might be asking them selves what defines friendship, who do you know when someone is your friends and a true friend is common for people to ask them selves. A writing by Alireza Nurbakhsh called "Friendship"  is confusing at first but explains well what its like to have a true friend. "The act of friendship is different from the act of loving. In a relationship of friendship both parties care for each other and give and receive benefits from each other. This reciprocity may not exist in the act of loving, for we may love someone without our beloved giving anything in return or even knowing that he or she is being loved by us." is one of the very few points Nurbakhsh makes. This writing gave me knowledge on what its like to have a true friend and know my own self worth at the same time.

"Angel With A Gold Bow"

As it gets near the time of Christmas, most everyone is filled with joy and happiness. Its the time of giving and sharing what you have with others. Some people aren't that lucky. They don't get to come home to a family and share their love and joy with the people they love the most. The poem "Angel With A Gold Bow" by Virginia A. Parks captures a hint of that sadness but then fills it with joy. The poem is about two boys who are orphans. It explains how Christmas time use to be a time of year they looked forward to and loved, but ever sense hey lost them it has been a time of year where sadness and tears filled their lives. Then comes along a warm heart and opened arms that felt their pain. A lady that had just bought them some presents listened to their story and cried she adopted them and gave them the love and affection they once had. This poem effected me emotionally, it made me think of my uncle that was adopted from Korea. For a moment I felt his pain and sadness of being alone.

"Dear Addiction"

The poem "Dear Addiction" by Zed Edington is about a major problem in the U.S. today. Addiction affects many families in a negative and some what positive way. People who suffer from this need help and support from their families. The negatives are obvious , a person can die and lose all their money to addiction. A positive to this is that the people that conquer addiction serve as a learning tool for others showing them the effects it can have on their life, and tell them what their everyday life was like. I recommend reading this poem as it is broad on the topic of what addiction is but gets the point across. I was emotional because this effected me personally, I had a family member that was struggling with addiction but conquered it.

A Bed of Clouds

A Bed Of Clouds

© Ashley L. May
Published on February 2006
I sleep in the clouds, dream in the sky,
I'll keep dreaming as life passes me by,
I think my dreams keep me sane,
I dream of happiness, a life without pain,
some people say I'm stuck in this place,
and I'll never go anywhere,
but in my dreams I've already been there,
I know some day I'll have to wake up,
but I feel the real world is more like a nightmare,
I'm safe in my closed eye wonderland,
this poem goes to all the dreamers that understand,
no matter what they say...
keep your dreams but don't dream your life away,

I don't read a lot and never really liked reading but when I do read I love reading poems or short stories about life and love and meaningful things like so. But when I came across the poem "A Bed of Clouds" by Ashley L. May I was hooked. This poem is short but sweet and to the point. Although its not a very long poem it has a deep meaning to it. I find this writing to be emotional towards me. The writer connected with me on a personal level.  When dreams are better than reality we seem to get lost in them. It is pleasant to us but we lose a grip on whats going on around us. Life is to short to live in a bed of clouds. Although our life safe and pleasant in these dreams we must branch out and live life because before we know it, life could be over.

Winter Is Coming

Winter is coming is a deep meaningful short story. By Azariahkribbs. It makes you think about how you want to die. That sounds weird but it makes you think about if you will die peaceful. This short story makes me scared of death. We never think about things like this unless we are in our feelings, or are having a late night therapy session in our cars. She does a great job of connecting with the reader. I suggest that you take a look at it and tell me what you think of it. How it makes you feel as a reader.

Trump

With the voting day coming up in Ohio I have been reading more and more on each candidate to try and find the one I agree most with on their views and just trying to get as much information as I can. I stumbled across this article about Donald Trump and what he plans on doing in Iraq. The article doesn't go into detail about his plan. Instead the writer focuses more on what he said and how dumb he looked saying it. This was based more on talking crap about him and how dumb he sounded. I believe that article such as this one don't really give the people a chance to know his point of view. This made me mad because of how the writer didn't tell us Trumps plan.

November Surprise?

During last nights debate Trump was asked if would accept losing the presidential debate. Trump said that he would see into it when the time comes. He wouldn't be clear on if he would back down or not. I believe this is a little uncalled for. He believes that the election is rigged and that there is voter fraud. Although that I think it is near impossible to do that, its still possible. Trump being so stubborn and saying this may have hurt him. I honestly believe that he should have waited until after the votes to do and say this. this is a very touchy topic I am not sure what to think about his statement.

Drug Test Before The Debate?

Its getting closer and closer to the election. Are you watching the debates and reading up on the two major party nominees?  Well if you aren't here is a little bit of information on whats happening with the Trump campaign. Trump is saying that he thinks Hillary Clinton is on drugs because of her performance during the last debate. He is calling her out on it and is saying that they should have a drug test before the next debate. I believe this ins't a bad idea after all. Does the president get drug tested? I never thought of that question before, I don't know about you but I have always just assumed they wouldn't be doing drugs. But he makes a good point. I think they should have a drug test and that if we as american citizens have to be drug tested for jobs than the president should have to drug tested also.

Palm Springs Shooting

So I was reading some articles on fox news and came across this heart breaking story. Two police officers, Jose Gilbert Vega a thirty five year old veteran and Lesley Zerebny a twenty seven year old mother that had just given birth to her child just four months ago were shot and killed. They were responding to a family disturbance call. Story's like this make me think about how life is so short and can change in a matter of seconds. Think about it you and your partner are sitting there in the squad car after a fresh cup of coffee and glazed over donuts. You shared some laughs and story's over the short brake and then you get a dispatch call. Not knowing this would be the last time you see them you show up next thing you know shots are fired and you and your partner are on the ground and that's it. Life can not be predicted  you never know if today will be your last day or if you will ever get to see the person you love again. I think we all need to slow down our lives and stop taking some things for granted and enjoy what we have while we have it. I started to tear up when I read this story. I began to think about what if that was my uncle or what if that was my mom. I know what it feels like to lose someone you love and close to your hearts to something as tragic as this. So to the families of these two police officers I send my condolences. I guess the point of me blogging about this is to not take things for granted and t enjoy life while you can.

Senator rips Trump: 'Blood will be on your hands' if Clinton is killed

So I do not have much input on the whole who should be the next president. But I found this article quit amusing and interesting. It is talking about how Trump said "if Hillary is so against guns that to have her guards take them away and to see what happens." A senator soon tweeted "Hey @realDonaldTrump, if you keep suggesting your supporters kill@HillaryClinton, someone will listen. The blood will be on your hands," he tweeted." I do not think that Trump was suggesting his supporters to try and kill Hillary I believe that what he said was taken out of context and greatly exaggerated. I believe what he was saying that sense Hillary is trying to create more gun control and take away those rights that she should exercise what she preaches and prove that not having guns is just as safe as having guns. If she wants to take them away then she should have unarmed body guards. I believe that is what Trump was trying to say.

The Stanford Rape Case - Fox News

This particular articular has angered me in multiple ways. One for being that the young man that raped a twenty three year old women unconscious behind a dumpster only got six months of jail time witch is 90 days with good behavior. The judge that gave him this sentence has gotten so much back lash for such a light sentence. There has already been petitions started and signed trying to make him step down from the bench. Over six hundred thousand people have signed and there is even a private congress petition going around for his impeachment. Many prosecutors wanted Turner to revive a minimum of six years in prison for what he had done and the maximum is fourteen years or prison. Another reason that this case has angered me so much is that the Turners father wrote a letter to the judge saying that his son is to fragile for prison and that he shouldn't be sent there because of the " opportunities" he has in front of him and that his son should not have his life ruined for : twenty minutes of action." The fact that the judge can be persuaded by a father trying to justify or make rape seem okay should be impeached and taken down from the bench if you ask me. Rape is rape no matter if its a girl or man doing the action. His son should have gotten at least six years in prison the sentence has not served justice for the young women and her everyday suffering. I believe that this case needs to be re opened and trialed again so Turner serves the right amount of time for his actions social class, race and gender should have no effect on a crime and the sentence you serve and this judged has failed to show that in his sentence.
