"Angel With A Gold Bow"

As it gets near the time of Christmas, most everyone is filled with joy and happiness. Its the time of giving and sharing what you have with others. Some people aren't that lucky. They don't get to come home to a family and share their love and joy with the people they love the most. The poem "Angel With A Gold Bow" by Virginia A. Parks captures a hint of that sadness but then fills it with joy. The poem is about two boys who are orphans. It explains how Christmas time use to be a time of year they looked forward to and loved, but ever sense hey lost them it has been a time of year where sadness and tears filled their lives. Then comes along a warm heart and opened arms that felt their pain. A lady that had just bought them some presents listened to their story and cried she adopted them and gave them the love and affection they once had. This poem effected me emotionally, it made me think of my uncle that was adopted from Korea. For a moment I felt his pain and sadness of being alone.
